LLOYD’S – Apprenticeship Programme
Lloyd’s is not an insurance company but an insurance market made up of different insurance companies who arrange insurance cover for customers from all over the world. From celebrity body parts to oil rigs, Formula One racing to space ships , Lloyd’s is most known for its ability to cover unusual or complicated risks. When we talk of Lloyd’s, we’re really referring to two distinct parts. The market, which is made up of many independent businesses, and the Corporation of Lloyd’s, which is there , broadly speaking , to oversee that market to ensure it operates efficiently and retains its reputation as the market of choice for specialist insurance and reinsurance risk. The Lloyd’s market is home to 57 managing agents and 87 syndicates, which offer an unrivalled concentration of specialist underwriting expertise and talent.
Their Apprenticeship Programme is aimed at students who want to start working after their A Levels or equivalent.
The 15-month Apprenticeship programmesare designed to empower you to progress in the world of specialist insurance. As you rotate across the business, you’ll gain a 360¬∞perspective into what life is like at Lloyd’s. You could find yourself managing relationships with international regulators, helping underwriting specialists assess risks in a managing agent or analysing metrics for a cyber campaign. You could also work in some of the non- insurance teams, such as Procurement or Marketing.
The programme combines employment with the achievement of a level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship, as well as an internationally recognised professional qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
You’ll follow a structured programme with regular reviews, and will need to manage your time well to achieve excellent results in the timescales available.
